Tulip Garden: Kashmir’s latest star attraction

A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone’ –  Asia’s largest Tulip garden is proof of that.Just days after Srinagar was pounded by heavy rain, J&K chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed inaugurated the Tulip garden situated on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar for public viewing. More than 45,000 tourists have visited the garden since it was thrown open to public 10 days ago.

The blossoming tulips  mark the beginning of a new tourism season in Kashmir Valley.  They are a visual treat — 1.2 million tulips of nearly 60 varieties, at the foothills of Zabarwan Range. The tulips are expected to remain in full bloom till the third week of April.
