OnePlus has introduced its latest smartphone, the OnePlus One, which it touts as winning combination of both power and endurance. The handset is available by ‘Invite only’ system on Amazon priced at Rs 21,999. The ‘On Screen Gestures’ and ‘Voice Wakeup’ are few of the exclusive features provided in the OnePlus One. Draw a circle on the sleeping screen to activate the camera app; a ‘V’ will toggle the torch; and two fingers vertically from top to bottom will play/pause the music playback where you can also change to previous or next track by drawing left or right arrow, respectively. Display and Camera: The 5.5-inch HD JDI screen has LTPS technology to display sharp pictures and the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 makes it 300% more shatterproof than OGS screen. The full HD screen supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 401ppi. OnePlus One has IPS display with TOL (Touch on Lens) technology that responds even to the slightest touch by removing the distance between the display panel and touch sensor. The phone runs on Cyanogen Mod 11S based Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

In terms of camera, OnePlus One boasts of a 13MP Sony Exmor IMX 214 camera sensor that has 6 lenses to ignore color aberration and distortion. It is supported by dual LED flash with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K resolution videos. For selfie lovers, a 5MP front facing camera is there to deliver distortion free images. Now you can capture more area while taking a selfie or a groupfie as the secondary camera comes with extra wide 80º viewing angle that helps in capturing a wider area comparatively.


Processor and Memory: OnePlus One is packed with a powerful quad-core Snapdragon Qualcomm 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz of speed and 578MHz Adreno 330 GPU that boost the performance of the device and delivers lag-free multiple tasking. The processor is coupled with a gigantic RAM of 3GB where the internal storage provided is 64GB. However, no microSD slot is available in the handset so the memory cannot be expanded.

  • Connectivity and Sensors: A huge bundle of connectivity features are available in OnePlus One, which include 2G, 3G with HSPA+ speed, 4G LTE, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS, microUSB with OTG, 65T NFC, Miracast et al. To make the device more responsive, the company has provided various sensors which include Gyroscope, Proximity, Light sensor, Digital Compass and Accelerometer.
    • Battery: OnePlus One comes with an embedded lithium-polymer 3,100mAh non-removable battery that promises to deliver a battery life for complete one day even after heavy usage and multi-tasking. The battery has CABC and DRAM technologies that help the phone in consuming less power, thus making it more battery efficient.
      OnePlus One seems to be a promising smartphone with high-end features and specs at affordable price that has already feared many of the major players in the market like Samsung, Sony, etc.
