Superstar Rajinikanth Upset Over Case Against Lingaa?

Recently a filmmaker from Madurai had filed a case against Lingaa requesting the court to ban the release of the most anticipated movie of the year making claims that Lingaa is a rip-off of his 2013 film Mullai Vanam 999. The petitioner named Ravi Rathinam had filed the case on November 11 2014 taking everyone by surprise.

Now, according to the latest buzz, Superstar Rajinikanth is not very happy about the case that has been filed against his movie with just less than a month for its release. Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu has offered support to Lingaa and its team by condemning the act of the petitioner. It is understandable if someone demands for a ban of a movie after its release but jumping to conclusions just by seeing the teaser and posters and moving to court seeking a ban for other reasons is unacceptable, the producer has said.

It is to be noted that Kalaipuli S. Thanu had faced a similar situation before when his movies Kanthaswamy and Thuppakki were scheduled to release. He has also asked the producers’ council to take swift action to restrain this unhealthy trend. Meanwhile AR Murugadoss, who too faced a defamation case against his movie Kaththi has said that he knew it would be difficult to hide the truth for a long time after Gopi, the petitioner

withdrew the case against him. Murugadoss now has filed a defamation case against Gopi for causing unnecessary trouble and for degrading his image as a director.
