Sand river in Iraq is breathtaking, but its not really sand.
A video on internet that recently got viral depicts frozen river of ice water raging through the desert as a Iraqi man watches in wonder. It has been named as the ‘sand river’.
This rare phenomenon that brought rain and hail storms to an otherwise hot and dry area in Iraq, caused a ‘river’ of frozen water to stream through the desert.

Iraqis reported seeing hailstones the size of golf balls raining down on the Middle East. The Iraq government had to declare a state of emergency in the wake of the extreme weather event.
The incredible spectacle, which looks like moving sand, is actually comprised of several blocks of ice moving at rapid pace through the desert.
These heavy rains over the past few weeks have triggered floods that killed dozens of people in Iraq and caused widespread damage in Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
