Samsung launches Galaxy Active Neo rugged smartphone
Samsung has added yet another phone to its Galaxy line-up, called the Galaxy Active Neo. It has been launched in Japan via NTT Docomo for Japanese Yen 20,000 which comes to around Rs 10,900 approximately. India launch dates aren’t known as yet, but the phone is expected to be launched globally soon.
The unique selling point of this phone is the fact that it comes with IP68 certifications and is a rugged phone meant for rough outdoor use. It can survive under 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 mins. It also comes with the MIL-STD-810G certification which makes it sale, sea-water, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal-shock resistant.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Active Neo houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC with Adreno 306 GPU and is paired with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of on board storage and this can be expanded using a microSD card slot. It sports a 4.5-inch WVGA display with an 800 x 480 pixel display. The OS of choice is Android 5.1 Lollipop.
On the camera front, the phone has an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. There is a 22oomAh battery and the phone supports 4G LTE bands with a single nano SIM configuration.
