PM Narendra Modi meets top business CEOs over dinner in NY
New York,Giving a push to his ‘Make in India’ initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met top business honchos over dinner at an event coordinated by Fortune here today.
“Beginning and ending the day with Business. PM @narendramodi meets with top CEOs at event coordinated by Fortune,” Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.
“The $ 4.5 trillion club! PM @narendramodi with leading Fortune 500 CEOs at a special event in New York,” he added while listing the names of 40 plus CEOs.The CEOs of Cisco, Mastercard, Boeing, Sandisk, Pepsico, IBM and Ford were present among others during the meeting.
Prime Minister Modi began his engagements in New York with a roundtable on financial sector with about 15 business leaders of the United States of America.He also participated in a roundtable on ‘Media, Technology and communications- Growth Story for India’ which witnessed the participation of about 15 CEOs of top media firms including Rupert Murdoch.
Four-time Michelin-starred Chef Vikas Khanna prepared meal that included sandalwood saffron sherbet, pomegranate pangria with tandoori pineapple, paneer ravioli, thandai chicken, Mizoram black rice khichdi, saffron sheermal, mango-ginger soup and coconut rice crème brulee.
This was the Prime Minister’s last engagement in a day that had been spent promoting Brand India. It had started with a meeting with nine chosen CEOs from financial sector where he made a strong investment pitch. Later he had one-on-one meetings with several top executives.
