Veteran director K Balachander who was instrumental in both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s film career is unwell and has been admitted in Kaveri hospital in Chennai. The buzz is that the ace director is in critical condition. The 84 year old director is in Intensive Care Unit and is constantly supervised by team of doctors.
Actor Rajinikanth is said to have rushed to the hospital to visit his mentor. While the film fraternity are expressing their concerns over social networking sites, Kamal Haasan is in Los Angeles, overlooking the post production of his film ‘Uttama Villain‘ directed by Ramesh Arvind.
Meanwhile a press note from the hospital states “Veteran film director MR. K Balachander, 84 year, has developed fever and certain age-related ailments over the past few days. He is being treated at our hospital now. At present he is stable and all necessary treatments are being given.”
K Balachander’s son Kailasam passed away recently a few months ago. Kailasam, aged 53 was heading his own production house, Min Bimbangal, which produces several television programs.
