Garlic Chicken Recipe – How to Make Garlic Chicken.

  • Chicken – 500 gms, cut into medium size pieces

For Marination

  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 inch ginger, 4  garlic
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ Cup Curd
  • Salt to Taste

For Masala

  • Onion – 2 med-large, sliced
  • 7-8 Garlic Chopped
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Fennel (perumjeerakam) powder – ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Chicken/meat masala – ½ tsp (optional)
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt


  1. Blend green chilies, ginger, garlic, and black pepper to a fine paste.
  2. Add Curd and Salt to this mix.
  3. Marinate chicken with the above mix and leave it for an hour.
  4. In a non-stick pan, heat enough oil and let fennel and onions fry until brown.
  5. Add chopped Garlic, Garam Masala, Turmeric powder, chicken masala, curry leaves fry it medium flame.
  6. Add Marinated chicken to the masala add ½ cup water and little salt.
  7. Cook 10 mins on low flame, just to dry and roast it a little more. Remove from fire. The dish will get a darker shade once it rests.
  8. Garnish with Coriander Leaves & onion with Lemon.
  9. Now Ready to Serve.
