Facebook brings new controls to improve your News Feed
Your experience on Facebook revolves around News Feed. News Feed is a personalized stream of stories that you build from the people and pages you’ve connected to on Facebook. So, it obviously matters what you see on your News Feed first. Facebook has announced new updates that let you tweak your News Feed and see posts only from pages and people you like. Last year, Facebook introduced controls to quickly follow and unfollow people or pages, more controls to give feedback about news feed. This year Facebook is letting you personalise your News Feed even further. Below are the improvements:
Select friends and Pages to see first
Now tapping on a friend’s profile picture lets you see their posts first. To help prioritise stories, and make sure you don’t miss posts from particular friends and pages. “You can now select which friends and pages you would like to see at the top of your News Feed. A star mark at the top right indicates you’ve made those post appear first. Scroll down to see rest of your news feed normally,” according to the official post. Find new Pages to connect to Based on pages you have liked in the past, Facebook will now help you find new pages to follow which can help you connect with new artists, publishers or businesses.
Select which friends and Pages to follow or unfollow
The new design allow users to see a list of the top people, pages and groups that have been viewed over the past week. Users can unfollow any friend, page or group to stop getting updates from them. “You can also see who you’ve unfollowed in the past and choose to re-follow them at any time,” according to the post. The new preferences has been rolled to for iOS. Android and desktop can expect to get it soon.
