Delhi Boy Chetan Kakkar Gets Rs 1.27 Crore Placement Offer From Google
Delhi boy Chetan Kakkar has set a new record for international placement for Delhi Technological University (DTU) by grabbing an offer of $1,90,000 (Rs 1.27 crore approx) per annum from Google. An alumnus of Springdales, Pusa Road, Kakkar said DTU campus has made a great difference to his prospects
final year student of DTU’s information technology department, Kakkar will be joining Google, California with a compensation of Rs 1,25,74,200 ($1,90,000) after he completes his study in 2016. The highest offer made so far in DTU campus has been Rs 93 lakh,” the news report states.Kakkar is an alumnus of Springdales, Pusa Road. His parents are teachers at the Delhi University.
Rita Kakkar is in the faculty of chemistry department and Subhash Kakkar is a teacher of management studies. A final year student of DTU’s information technology department, Kakkar will be joining Google. This was what I had been striving so far and I am excited to join Google,” said Kakkar.Just in case you’re wondering this is what Google’s California office looks like. Nothing fancy.
Google is not the only company, as social media giant Facebook has also offered Indian students lucrative job offers. Last year, three students bagged the highest package of Rs 1.42 crore each from Facebook at a premier IIT-B on the first day of the placements.
This could impact the way newer students set their goals, and preference for job profile could give way to the salary involved. This would really defeat the whole purpose of education.
