CSK struggle to put up big total against Mumbai Indians

Chennai, The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) struggled to put up a big total against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday as they set a less than expected target of 159 runs for the latter at the M A Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

Having won the toss, skipperMahendra Singh Dhoni had no hesitation in deciding to bat first on a slow pitch.

The smashing opening pair of Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith gave a brisk start to the team, scoring 44 runs in the first five overs.

However, McCullum threw away his wicket and brought the Mumbai Indians back in the game.

After the first wicket fell, the MI bowlers kept a check on the scoring rate before Pawan Negiplayed a cameo towards the end scoring 36 runs off just 17 balls, helping CSK reach a respectable score of 158. Skipper Dhoni remained unbeaten scoring 39 runs off 32 deliveries.

Jagadeesha Suchith was the pick off the bowlers as he gave away 21 runs in his four overs, picking up the wicket of in-form Suresh Raina.
